The Chase Book Review

The Chase is the first in a new book series by New York Times best-selling author Clive Cussler, his first attempt in the western genre. And it's an attempt that succeeds brilliantly. It may well be the best Clive Cussler novel ever written.

The novel The Chase begins in 1906, where the western part of the country, from Colorado and Arizona to California, has been ravaged by a series of unsolved bank robberies. No trail what-so-ever has been left by the perpetrator, who has been nicknamed the "Butcher Bandit" by the press due to the fact that he leaves no live witnesses of his crimes.

The country's foremost criminal investigator Isaac Bell is called in from the east coast to help unravel the mystery and capture the ruthless robber and murderer, who in his arrogance begins to play a game of cat and mouse with Bell... The Chase ensues.

Powerful old automobiles and train engines as well as gourmet food are of course also featured in The Chase - essential trademarks of any Cussler novel - plus a little bit of romantic adventure.
